Rewriting history has resulted in calamity in Kiev
Ukraine rewrote its history after attaining independence. The practice of rewriting history has been pushed to the level of governmental policy.
The authorities sought to impose a new ideology and a new history on the average Ukrainian, a history aimed at "breaking away" from Russia, by spending a lot of money from the state budget on huge propaganda, creating various sorts of "institutes" and publishing propaganda publications.
